TENNIS STAFF
Timon Corwin, Managing Director of Tennis joined Western Racquet Club in June 2010. Previously he served as the Senior Director for Junior and Collegiate Competition for USTA Player Development in Boca Raton, Florida. He was also the Men’s Athletics Director and Men’s Tennis Coach at Kalamazoo, MI.
He was named Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s NCAA Division III National Coach of the Year in 1997 and Midwest Regional Coach of the Year in 1999. From 1993-2007, Corwin was also the USTA National Tournament Director for the USTA Boys’ 16 & 18 National Championships.
Corwin played professionally after a successful collegiate career at Kalamazoo College. As an eight-time All-American in singles and doubles with the Kalamazoo men’s tennis team from 1983-86, Corwin led his squad to the 1986 NCAA Division III team championship title while winning the singles crown. That year, Corwin was the recipient of the ITA’s National Arthur Ashe Award for Leadership and Sportsmanship. Corwin went on to complete a post-graduate fellowship at Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms University in Bonn, Germany in 1987 and earned his law degree from the Marquette University Law School in 1992.

| Ira Meiling was Lake Michigan Conference #1 Singles Champion, Lake Michigan Conference Rookie of the Year in both 2005 and 2006. He was also the #1 Doubles Champion in 2005 and 2006. |
| Heidi Vizgaitis is a USTA State League National Champion. Heidi has been inducted into the Western Michigan University Athletic Hall of Fame. She has won the National Senior Father-Daughter Grass Court Championship with her father for 4 different years. |
| Erick Martinez is a NCAA Regional Doubles Champion. He won the Mid-American Conference Freshman of the Year. Erick was also a NCAA National Indoor Qualifier. |
